Carl P returns

From The Tennessean...Carl P. Mayfield & The P-Team will begin airing at 3-7 p.m. today on Road Dog Trucking on Sirius satellite radio channel 147.

Charlie Daniels will be the first guest on the debut broadcast. Carl P.'s affiliation with Sirius was announced last month, but the show is just now beginning because it took time to get the studio up and running, according to folks at Sirius in New York.

"Sirius has built a state of the art studio from the ground up and I watched it come together with a great deal of pride and a feeling that I've finally found the right group of radio professionals," the P-man says.

Checking to see if this board still has a pulse...

Unless Carl P. Mayfield does something, don't expect to see any new topics. This board is all about Carl P. and sports talk, not radio.

Steve Gill's contract talks have hit a snag. That's BIG radio news. Yet, unless Carl P. or one of the sports talk stations is involved, it will be ignored on this board.

No, I think if this board were still alive, you'd definitely find the Gill news here. That's a big clue that it's dead. But here I am, coming back to look for signs of life once again.

Gill's gone now. Word is the Fan is getting a new local show and there's no place to talk about it. Anyone know of any other Nashville Radio boards?

Questions for August:

Gill's back with a statewide network, but where else will he be besides WLAC?

Kim & Dean are out... will some shifts around KDF bring Rick & Bubba back to Nashville?

Will the WNSR vs. ESPN and the Fan trial take place this month as scheduled?

Will the Fan's MTSU coverage having any meaning inside the Nashville city limits?

How soon will something new be headed to 102.5?

And which station will have slipped the furtherest when the Spring Book comes out?

Something's definitely up at WKDF all right. Format change maybe?

All of the news accounts I read definitely mentioned the statewide radio network, so I didn't think any of them missed the point. It's just that they apparently had no information to offer as to what stations would be airing the show other than WLAC.

There is a rumor that Carl P. will be working at Cumulus soon.
