Mark Howard

Rumor has it that Mark will try to do some play by play work in addition to an increased presence at The Zone now that he is free for his TV work.

And he seems to be doing all this with a plan. So what play by play work is coming up? March Madness? Baseball?

He is bad at play by play. Did you see his final show with Hope last night. It was very bad and very staged and very uncomfortable. Hope and Mark hugged. Good thing it was so late and most people had eaten dinner several hours previously.

Mark has what it takes to go to another level. Not as a play by play guy but as a radio host. He's brash which rubs people the wrong way. That translates to big ratings.Jim Rome made it by pissing people off.

He's the perfect candidate for a show on Fox Sports.

Why is it that three men in the booth is a crowd on the Sports Zone, but when one of the guys is absent from the Wake-Up Zone, it's just not the same?

mark howard isn't good at anything on the air. he's not a very pleasant person to be around or work with by all accounts of those who have worked with him. jim rome is really beating the ratings book to death isn't he? all I hear is complaints. people like mark do make a name for themselves, but it is usually short lived and they run their course. people like plaster last longer and grow on you.

I think they ought to give mark and khuharsky (sp?) a show and call it The Crank Yankees (ok, so i stole that one, but it's good).

carl p's talk show was very popular, so they might bring him back if they make changes.

Mark Howard was fired at Channel 5 because he was a rogue to work with and after 20 years they finally got a news director that stood up to the bully. He's been yelling at co-workers and being a general slob for years. He has always had an uncomfortable presence on the air and refused to do anything about it. Someone talked about his sources, yes, when you sit in your house eating bon bon's your entire life gossiping on the phone 24 hours a day, you have a great network.

The mentality chick dropped the F*Bomb on the radio. I wonder if she will be fired?

I am not sure if Mark Howard was fired or not, but it is true that he yelled at co-workers and was often hard to be around.

He is everywhere but here.Think outside your box.

That's no longer true. Rome's ratings have dropped off in many markets in the past two years. Unfortunately, where you have station groups with must carry agreements, we have to hear it whether we like it or not. And the overwhelming word in Nashville and Knoxville have been "not!"
